Die 27. Jahrestagung des Arbeitskreis Sportökonomie e.V. fand diesmal gemeinsam mit der 25. Konferenz der International Association of Sports Economists (IASE) vom 20.-22. Juni 2024 an der Universität Bayreuth statt.
⚽️ Mein Vortrag – mit Co-Autor Prof. Dr. Markus Kurscheidt – beschäftigte sich mit dem Thema „Wie die Eisernen den Big City Club übertrumpften: Eine qualitative Studie zur Veränderung der Fussballkultur in Berlin“. und wurde vom Auditorium intensiv diskutiert.
Ich bedanke mich ganz herzlich bei den Bayreuther Masteranden Fridtjof Lüer, Dennis Bauer, Robin Gammerdinger, Niklas Mayer und Nils-Ole Utech für ihre Assistenz im Forschungsprojekt.
Ein angenehmer zusätzlicher Effekt der Tagung war, dass ich die Master-Studenten Fridtjof Lüer und Yassin Philipp erstmals persönlich treffen konnte, nachdem wir uns zuvor ausschließlich via ZOOM ausgetauscht hatten.
Meine ehemalige duale Studentin Stephanie Zöhlius – drei Jahre beim 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig tätig – reiste speziell mit Familie aus Leipzig an, um sich die aktuellsten Erkenntnisse aus Sport- und Vereinsmanagement sowie Sportökonomie nicht entgehen zu lassen.
Spannend war wiederum der Austausch mit Kolleginnen und Kollegen und führenden Forscherinnen und Forschern. Ich habe den Vorträgen und Gesprächen viele interessante Anregungen entnehmen können.

The 27th annual conference of the Sport Economics Working Group took place this time together with the 25th Conference of the International Association of Sports Economists (IASE) from June 20-22, 2024 at the University of Bayreuth.
⚽️ My lecture – with co-author Prof. Dr. Markus Kurscheidt – dealt with the topic „How the Irons outdid the Big City Club: A qualitative study on the change in football culture in Berlin.“ and was discussed intensively by the audience.
I would like to thank the Bayreuth master’s students Fridtjof Lüer, Dennis Bauer, Robin Gammerdinger, Niklas Mayer and Nils-Ole Utech for their assistance in the research project.
A pleasant additional effect of the conference was that I was able to meet the master’s students Fridtjof Lüer and Yassin Philipp in person for the first time after we had previously only communicated via ZOOM.
My former dual student Stephanie Zöhlius – who worked for 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig for three years – traveled from Leipzig with her family especially so as not to miss out on the latest findings in sports and club management as well as sports economics.
The exchange with colleagues and leading researchers was again exciting. I was able to gain many interesting ideas from the lectures and discussions.
